Agrobioscience Offer

Our planet’s natural resources are decreasing at a rapid pace. At the same time, technological advances are being developed to minimize the impact on the world’s food supply. These technologies have the potential to create new evolutional processes and approaches that enhance and salvage the current food system. The global food industry is valued at US$8 trillion. These disruptive innovations are helping to transition the food industry from conventional animal-based proteins to plant and alternative protein utilizing precision fermentation.

Deep Tech Support and Investment Offer

Deep tech projects present high barriers to entry due to their scientific nature and related costs. Investing in these projects is perceived by financial stakeholders as complex, not knowing how to approach them, despite their high potential. DeepTech requires a fully integrated support system of infrastructure, platforms, talent, and programs to enable the transition of these projects from a demonstrator to industrially mature projects. This offer, which combines non-dilutive support and capital investment, gives UM6P Ventures the ability to fund, build and accelerate assets from projects.

Infrastructure Support

As UM6P Ventures provides access to sophisticated equipment, laboratories, and specialized operating know-how. Such specialized equipment greatly reduces start-up expenses that can cost hundreds and thousands of dollars. Instead of using capital to purchase equipment to prove concepts and gain important operating experience, startups can focus on providing a proof of concept and save early investors’ money for other critical expenses, which can extend their operating timeline.

Subject Matter Expertise

As the venture capital arm of University Mohammed 6 Polytechnic, UM6P Ventures has the great advantage of providing startups access to senior scientific and technical experts. These subject matter experts (SME’s), challenge, support and improve new companys’ deep tech solutions, including their intellectual property, which provides a critical competitive advantage in a Darwinian marketplace.

We focus our investments in agrobioscience, health tech, and renewable energy, and the scientists and technical experts of UM6P play a critical role as they work and advance the technical processes of beginning companies.

Explorer Program

UM6P Ventures launched “Explorer developed in collaboration with MIT Sandbox” a program fund that supports UM6P Ecosystem and several African universities and institutions founded ventures. The program provides mentoring, education, and funding to aspiring innovative entrepreneurs. Students and researchers of the UM6P Ventures community have access to a broad network of world-renowned partners and experts that provide unique, practical, entrepreneurial and educational experiences designed to foster innovation and growth. The Explorer program believes in the philosophy of learning by doing, need-based learning and open access.

Plug and Play Partner Program

Plug and Play Morocco is launching its third acceleration batch in the region, a program in collaboration with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and UM6P Ventures.

This is an intensive three-month program structured around workshops, one on one mentoring, virtual support, networking events, and fundraising support.
